Belfast Riverside Bike Tour
A scenic all-rounder bike tour from Titanic Quarter through the university area to the Lagan towpath
Service Description
This fantastic all-rounder bike tour packs in a tonne of Belfast's most iconic sights, stunning architecture, and fascinating stories in a three-hour trip that is relaxed and enjoyable. This fascinating bike tour is guided along largely traffic-free cycle paths and a few quiet city streets by local expert Steven Patterson, who played a pivotal role in developing Belfast's cycling infrastructure. No one knows the city's cycle lanes, greenways and back streets like Steven! This fun, guided bike tour starts in the Titanic Quarter, where we explore the stunning Maritime Mile riverside path with SS Caroline, the SS Nomadic and the massive Thompson Dry Dock - where the Titanic was fitted out before it launched on its fateful journey. Crossing the river Lagan to the cityside, we visit the wonderful Big Fish sculpture. We'll stand on the very spot that gave Belfast its name before taking a slow ride along the three-mile cycle path to the Lagan Valley Regional Park. In this beautiful natural setting, we’ll stop for some refreshments while we explore the role of Northern Ireland’s canal network in its growth to become a global powerhouse of textile manufacturing. On our way home, we’ll take in Belfast’s Botanic Gardens and the beautiful Palm House, Tropical Ravine and Ulster Museum before visiting the historic Queen’s University. Arriving back in the Titanic Quarter, we’ll visit the Titanic Hotel. This modern hotel is housed within the former headquarters buildings of Harland & Wolff, and to finish our tour, we'll see the stunning drawing offices where the Titanic itself was designed. This a great tour for those who want to really get to know all of Belfast's most famous sights and get a better handle on how the city and its history connect together. Want a custom experience?
